In 1980 I entered service at KLM and have worked as B747 Flight Engineer and Flight Technical Manager B747 and MD-11 before I started my training to be an airline pilot in 1995.

After completing my flight training at KLM Flight Academy I flew Boeing 737 Classic and NG airplanes from 1997 until my retirement in August 2014. In that time frame I also worked as Technical Pilot from 2002 until 2007 and subsequently as TRI from 2007 and as TRE from 2009.

After retirement at KLM I started working for Corendon Dutch Airlines in March 2015 as freelance Captain Boeing 737, TRI, TRE and Line Check Captain. That ended prematurely in 2020 due to the Corona crisis.

I have a total of over 9500 flight hours on B737 of which approximately 4900 as Captain.

Besides working as a pilot for KLM and Corendon Dutch Airlines I worked from 2011 until 2022 as freelance TRI/TRE for KLM Flight Academy. The last few years I was the senior-TRE and responsible for instructor standardization. I also fully rewrote the MCC Training Syllabus.

From 2021-2023 I worked for Bluebird Nordic and from 2024 until present for SmartLynx Airlines as freelance TRI/TRE. For Bluebird Nordic I revised the SOPs for the introduction of B737-NG, compiled four Recurrent Training programs and wrote the OCC Conversion and Command Upgrade guides.

In total I have over 6700 hours of experience as TRI/TRE.
